Who we’re looking forWe are looking for an experienced and detail-loving Shipping Coordinator to join our tight-knit and high-performing team. You are a logistics whiz with top-notch communication skills and a knack for solving problems before they even pop up. With your experience in logistics you’ve got the lowdown on shipping processes, haggling with carriers, and making international logistics look like a piece of cake. You can handle a bunch of things at once, making sure shipments are spot on time. Being super detailed when prepping shipping docs and keeping an eagle eye on the whole process comes naturally to you. You love the hustle, shifting gears with changing priorities. Your goal? Keeping our shipping game sharp, efficient, and always on point. What your role looks likeReporting to the Planning and Logistics Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and timely movement of goods from international destinations. You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the shipping process, by working closely with internal teams, carriers and suppliers to guarantee accurate and efficient shipments.Your main responsibilities will include:Liaise with freight forwarders (e.g. Investec, Aviocean, ACS) to arrange transportation quotes and negotiate freight rates.Coordinate and schedule shipments to ensure stock delivery requirements are met.Coordinate with vendors to ensure that all materials are available for packaging or shipping.Monitor and track shipment progress and provide timely updates.Resolve any shipping-related issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.Arrange, manage and track DHL parcels.Collaborate with the Edison Stone warehouse team to ensure accurate picking, packing, and labeling of products and/or help resolve any issues relating to this.Keep abreast of shipping regulations.Optimize shipping processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Onboard suppliers and train on new systems and processes.Manage consolidation of shipments with freight forwarders (Future).Complete Clearance instructions.Gather information for landed cost calculations. Who you’ll be working withInternally, you will be part of the Planning and Operations team and collaborate closely with the Merchandising, Sales and Logistics teams and externally, you will be interacting with international brand partners, suppliers and freight forwarders. What experience and skills do you need for the roleExperience:Necessary: At least 2+ years experience in a Shipping Co-ordinator role within a retail or wholesale business. A clear understanding of shipping, freight forwarding and clearance processes. Qualifications:Matric or equivalent.Proven experience as a Shipping Coordinator or in a similar role within the logistics industry.Strong organizational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures is a plus.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Problem-solving skills with a proactive and positive attitude.Experience in working with ACS, Lima Systems, Investec, Aviocean would be beneficial.
