Basic FunctionResponsible for interpretation and reporting of geophysical data. Supports other departments with geological background information2. Primary Duties and Responsibilities2.1 Operationsa) Interpretation of geophysical datab) Check geophysical data from the field for completeness and quality c)Checks data precisely, keeps precise log of processing parametersd) Execute given work ensuring it is within project targets and in accordance with specifications, procedures and work practisese) Responsible for field reporting and compilation of survey reports in given company formatf) Check work of subordinate staffg) On occasion is expected to liaise directly with clienth) Responsible for actively ensuring the implementation of QC procedures in the field environmenti) Responsible for ensuring reports are duly completed as and when necessary j) To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by the Geo-data Supervisor from time to timek) Maintains appropriate quality standards even when under pressurel) Can be counted on to complete set tasks reliably and co-operativelym) Adhere to Company QA/HSE standards at all times, and demonstrate thorough awareness of and compliance with the QA/HSE system and its requirements2.2 Financiala) Assist the Project Manager and/or Planning Team Lead in maintaining expense accountingb) Account for own project and business-related expenditure2.3 Personnela) Advise superior on subordinate staff performanceb) Assist with advising and training of staff on technical, quality and safety related issues2.4 Administrationa) If applicable check and approve all field administrative reportingb) Is responsible for and / or assist with maintenance of field survey / engineering administration and field filing system in accordance with work practicesc) Ensure time spent on projects is properly accounted ford) Assist with field related expenditure reporting2.5 Specific Additional Dutiesa) Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.3.Principal Working Relationshipsa) Work with Geo-data Supervisor for timely submission of reportsb) Liaise with Party Chiefs on data quality of geophysical datac) If applicable work with superior field staff to ensure projects are completed to client’s specificationsd) Meet with Project Manager for project debriefe) Meet with Resources and Operations Support Manager for selected project debriefs, Staff Development Interviews and if applicable personal Performance Appraisal discussionf) Meet with QA/HSE dept for QA discussions, feedback, training.4.Education and Experience Requirementsa) B.Sc. or M.Sc. level in geophysics or related subjectb) Conversant with acoustic equipmentc) Conversant with computer operation and a basic knowledge of application software.d) English languagee) Experience with IHS Kingdom and SonarWiz would be beneficial.Disclaimer for recruitment agencies:Fugro does not accept any unsolicited applications from recruitment agencies.
