- Responsible for controlling and directing the food preparation process, creating menus, ensuring exceptional front of house experiences, and managing a small team of kitchen and housekeeping staff.
- Menu Creation:
- Develop menus and create new dishes to ensure variety and quality.
- Roll out menu creations and maintain a standardized recipe book.
- Plan meals weekly and seasonally to meet the needs of our clients and staff.
- Food Preparation:
- Oversee the food preparation process and ensure dishes meet quality standards.
- Approve dishes before serving and address any issues or defects.
- Prepare daily breakfast for executives.
- Stock and Equipment Management:
- Coordinate budgets and manage food inventory needs.
- Conduct monthly stocktakes and arrange repairs when necessary.
- Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and manage kitchen and housekeeping staff.
- Estimate staff workload and foster a climate of cooperation and respect.
- Provide ongoing training and upskilling opportunities.
- Barista Station:
- Supervise the barista station and manage stock levels.
- Health and Safety:
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with sanitation regulations.
- Ensure the kitchen meets all health and safety guidelines and undergoes regular audits.
- Uphold food hygiene practices and prioritize the safety of staff and customers.
- Housekeeping:
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in all areas of the building.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Events Management:
- Assist in organizing and managing company events and functions.
- Provide catering services for internal and external events as required.
- General/Ad Hoc:
- Provide weekly updates to management and maintain records of stock.
- Possess strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Degree in Culinary science or related certificate.
- Proven experience as a Head Chef.
