Factory Operations Engineer in Cape Town

- Managing maintenance and upkeep of the plant and facilities
- Implementing and enhancing efficiencies within the plant
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive maintenance schedule
- Ensuring adequate levels of spare parts inventory and liaising with suppliers
- Overseeing new expansion projects and managing project timelines
- Budget management for both capital and maintenance expenditures
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including OSHA standards
- Creating a safe working environment for all staff
- Promptly addressing breakdowns and conducting preventative maintenance
- Exploring innovative solutions to minimize production downtime and boost productivity
- Identifying and evaluating potential new maintenance suppliers
- Monitoring and optimizing ammonia plant operations to meet required standards
- A degree in Industrial or Mechancial or Electrical Engineering
- Matric qualification with a strong foundation in Mathematics
- Proficiency in CAD software is advantageous
- Excellent computer skills
- Prior experience with ammonia refrigeration and food processing plants is preferred
- Knowledge of PLC programming and invertors is advantageous
- 3-5 years of experience in refrigeration and/or food industries
- Familiarity with high-capacity 3-phase motors and mechanical servicing
- Understanding of pneumatic systems, switchgear, and water treatment processes
- Willingness to work extended hours and occasional weekends
