Group & Events Coordinator - Cape TownFull job descriptionLarge Hotel in Cape Town with extensive Banqueting, Conferencing, Weddings & Events facilities is looking for a Group & Events Coordinator.You will be responsible for ensuring that group events within the hotels meet the hotels level of quality standards.You will be in charge of preparing quotes, making follow-up calls with prospective clients and holding meetings with clients who are interested in hosting an event.You will report to the Sales Director about any conflicts and concerns regarding the booking of a group function.Additionally, you will be required to follow through with client requests and delegate responsibilities to the Event Managers who actually run the event.Requirements:Grade 12University degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management.Minimum of 3 years of experience in Leisure sales in hotel industry is required.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to keep a positive attitude in an extremely fast-paced and demanding work environment.Previous experience, familiar with hotel environment.Excellent organizational skills.This position requires a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work unsupervised using own initiative.Computer literate including relevant software and experience in using a PMS system.Excellent organizational, planning, prioritizing and time- management skills environment, work efficiently, accurately, and quickly in a fast-paced environment.Excellent interpersonal and customer skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Persuasive selling style to communicate the company’s services & facilities, policies and terms and conditions
