As the finance department, we deliver timeously to senior management and shareholders of the organisation, to assist with their decision-making processes in driving the business forward.Purpose of the Role:This role is integral to the finance team and its reporting to the business, spanning multiple entities worldwide. Reporting to the Audit & Tax Manager, this role looks after all statutory, financial compliance, reporting and taxes for their allocated silo. The entities constitute SA and foreign entities in the online gaming industry and companies supporting those activities with operational and marketing outsourced services.This role is both numbers and people focused and therefore requires the candidate to be highly numerate, well organised, deadline driven and have the ability to lead a team to meet deadlines and improve processes. Attention to detail and accuracy is non-negotiable.Duties will include, but not limited to:Oversight of standard monthly team processes:Overall management (including review and confirmation of submission) of monthly and regulatory returns ensuring all deliverables are met on time.ReportingMonthly ReportingPreparation of monthly reports for in country partners and stakeholders, being monthly publish.Ensure early roll over of all reports for the new month.Ensure all reports are ready for management review and follow up where reports are required from the greater finance team.Drafting of management accounts when requested.Statutory ReportingReview of single entity and annual consolidated financial statements including all notes.Review of all accounting policies and ensure that all new accounting policies have been accounted for in the relevant sets of financial statements and consistent application across responsible entities and compliance to IFRS.Prepare Annual Financial Statements for the entities within the silo that are not prepared externally under the applicable accounting framework.Review of Annual Financial Statements for the entities within the silo that are prepared externally.Board reportingReview & assist with the preparation and coordination of all information for board reports where applicable.Ensure disclosure in the AFS complies with IFRS and aids in displaying decision useful information for example:Sensitivity analysis per major market for:Currency exposure;Accepted purchases;Processor receivables;Interest, credit and market risk and reasons for changes; andLiquidity risk and evaluation of working capital management across all groups (Cash flow vs liquidity and solvency ratio).Compliance reportingReview of all required reporting and submissions for regulated markets where required.Review of all required reporting for all Gaming Authorities.All monthly and annual entity reports to administrators.All reporting to be standardized across entities.Adhoc reporting as required by managementDrive efficiencies in processesTaxationResearchReview of research papers prepared of all taxation implications for operating in new regions.Gaming tax and VAT, Corporate tax, normal VAT, withholding taxes, reverse VAT.Benefits of any applicable double taxation treaties.Benefits of tax structures such as head quarter companies and testing for compliance.Assist with forecasts for management for potential new markets including all taxes in order to determine future profitability and breakeven points.Review and preparation of tax memo’s for presentation to the relevant Board.Keep abreast of any changes to all taxes.All taxes to be recorded on a tax matrix and tax matrix to be maintained.Gaming VAT and taxationFinal review and submission of gaming vat and tax calculations for all regions.Submission of calculations via lawyers or website, request payment and follow through to completion before deadline.Follow up on payment requests to ensure taxes are paid before the deadline.Assist with queries received from the relevant authorities and coordinate required information.Normal VATFinal review of tax calculations for all regions.Submission of calculations via lawyers or website, request payment and follow through to completion prior to deadlines.Follow up on payment requests to ensure taxes are paid before the deadline.Assist with queries received from the relevant authorities and coordinate required information.Corporate taxReview monthly taxation accrual for tax entities.Review final tax calculations for review by the relevant financial manager.Submit corporate tax submission to the directors and auditors for review.Submission of return to the relevant tax authority and follow up on payments and receipts.Set up and training of management accountants on any changes to taxes and taxes in new regions.Audit reviewsObtain audit fees across all entities and request new proposed audit fees for negotiation.Review of the monthly audit fee and accounting accruals and ensure the accruals are raised based on the quoted fees in the engagement letters.Prepare audit timelines and plan each year in coordination with the Group Audit Specialist (Financial Manager to be involved).Set up of all audit review meetings.Review research of new IFRS reporting and apply to annual financial statements where applicable.Manage the audit process:Ensure uploads of all audit files onto audit portal.Ensure constant follow up with team leads and financial manager to ensure timely submission of files.Sign off on the group audit schedules in coordination with the Group Audit Specialist.Assist in finalization of audit files and TB’s for submission to auditors.Manage the coordination all audit queries received.Maintain an audit query list to ensure all queries answered and to assist with the following years audit.Review of drafted of financial statements for management and audit review, (applicable if the financial statements were drafted by a third party, or another team member)Review of audit journals:Review summary of audit and client journals resulting from audits and compare TBs after journals were posted to signed AFS.Ensure that Retained Earnings per the ERP (NAV) agrees to signed AFS in local currency.Quarterly audit files (Internal)Set up meetings for quarterly audit reviews within Floqast.StatutoryObtain and maintain relevant group structures with Company Secretary.Ensure regulatory bodies are in good standing order. Agree all share capital to all relevant statutory documents and ensure that all investments are correctly recorded and consolidate out, where applicableMaintain a director’s register for all entities in group structures.Action director changes within silo and communicate such changes to the Group Company Secretary, where applicable.Investments & EvaluationEnsure accurate going concerns with forecasting.Perform valuations of companies, databases etc.Review the share-based payments expense monthly and ensure it agrees to group schedules.TeamworkEffectively work as a team with rest of the finance team.Effectively communicate to manager and team members to ensure key deliverables are met on time and potential problems escalated.Openly communicate with managers and team members effectively to ensure that all key deliverables are met timeously and accurately;Communicates clearly and effectively at all levels; both internally and externally;Effectively feeds information to required members of the team to ensure all important updates are shared appropriately;Manages others expectations appropriately and proactively communicates any potential problems.Bi-annual setting of objectives.Ad hoc projects:Assist in the drafting of process notes detailing how and why monthly tasks are performed to ensure business continuity.Other ad hoc duties as may be required from time to time.This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities.
