Our client in the Renewables Energy industry is currently looking for a Strategic Initiatives Manager, in Johannesburg:Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Strategy and Emerging Business department in crafting corporate and departmental strategies that accelerate growth, disrupt the solar energy market, and deliver long-term value.
  • Assist with monitoring and tracking the progress of the organization’s overarching strategy, establishing, and implementing KPIs to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic direction.
  • Establish and implement end-to-end business processes, criteria and KPIs to drive innovative and agile operating models, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify growth and strategic optimization opportunities and make informed recommendations to key stakeholders, leveraging insights into the local, regional, and international solar energy markets.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, continually seeking opportunities to drive continuous improvement and strategic growth.
  • Design project roadmaps and strategic plans, incorporating KPIs, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to drive growth, surpass revenue targets, and position the organization as a market leader.
  • Lead and manage multiple cross-functional projects and strategic transformations concurrently, adeptly managing competing deadlines, evolving priorities, and resource availability.
  • Exceptionally manage cross-functional project team members and stakeholders, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance across all levels of the organization.
  • Identify and advise on new growth, business, and investment opportunities across a diverse range of sectors, leveraging extensive market research as well as data and financial analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Drive business development efforts, cultivating and expanding the organizations emerging business pipeline to capitalize on growth opportunities.
  • Foster enduring client relationships to drive long-term value and position, as a trusted advisor within the market.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations to communicate progress, results, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management and external partners.
  • Facilitate open and transparent communication channels with stakeholders and within the organization to ensure alignment on strategic objectives and foster a collaborative high performing environment.
  • Act as a liaison between different teams and stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are well-informed and involved in decision-making processes.
Requirements:
  • A postgraduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or an MBA or equivalent qualification.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, strategic planning, strategy formulation, and driving business performance. This should include a minimum of 5+ years in a Senior Management role, with a preference for experience in startup environments.
  • Proficiency in leading innovation, transformation, and strategy frameworks or methods, coupled with hands-on experience in developing or implementing projects using these frameworks.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and a deep understanding of business development and growth strategies.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong client relationships, effectively managing key client and partner interactions to ensure the delivery of quality and value.
  • Exceptional critical thinking abilities focused on solution development, constructing logical arguments or analyses, synthesizing complex information, and proactively identifying or anticipating risks and challenges.
  • A relentless drive for results, coupled with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with numerous competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational prowess, including the capability to devise, implement, and monitor comprehensive project management plans with clear action plans to achieve objectives, optimize resource utilization, measure performance, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Proficiency in expressing complex concepts and projects effectively through visual, verbal, and written reports and presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding communication skills, enabling effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders across all levels. This includes the ability to delegate tasks, motivate and inspire team members, instill accountability, provide clear direction, and secure support and buy-in.
Remuneration:
  • R70 000 – R95 000 per month.
