- Develop and execute lead generation strategies tailored to the mining sector, with a focus on geological and geotechnical data management during various phases such as exploration and drilling.
- Initiate and sustain contact with potential clients through cold calling and strategic outreach, demonstrating patience and persistence throughout the typically lengthy sales cycles characteristic of B2B environments.
- Build and meticulously manage a robust sales pipeline, skillfully nurturing each opportunity to advance towards deal closure.
- Qualify new business opportunities by leveraging a deep understanding of the mining value chain, excluding the diamond sector, to align solutions with client needs effectively.
- Drive the sales process forward, employing a methodical approach to maintain momentum and engagement with prospects over extended periods.
- Engage actively in the industry through networking and participating in relevant events, establishing and strengthening relationships to support business growth.
- Continuously update knowledge on advancements in geological data management software and the broader IT landscape pertinent to mining, ensuring cutting-edge solutions are proposed to clients.
- 3+ years experience in B2B complex, information technology related solution, enterprise sales experience
- A tertiary qualification in earth sciences, business, marketing, or information technology
- Exposure to the mining industry, earth sciences or information management is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities with long sales cycles
- Demonstrated ability to generate and manage a strong, well-qualified opportunity pipeline
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets, quarterly and annually
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Presentation and negotiation skills
