Electrical Systems Technician (SA Projects)

• Should preferably be multi skilled within the various disciplines as stipulated below.
• Reports to the Engineering Manager (Electrical Systems).

• Liaise directly with Customers for quotations, orders, small and medium projects and shutdown maintenance activities.
• Maintaining a good relationship with the customers representatives at all times.
• Develop quotations for engineering services, engineering work and projects, and support the tendering process of other departments with respect to Engineering work.
• Designs, Specifications, Project, supervision and management of small to medium construction projects.
• Technical problem solving, fault finding, periodic standby duties.
• Specify, design, program, install, commission and maintain electrical equipment on customer sites including metering equipment, protection equipment, electrical reticulation equipment.
• You will be required to work on Protection relays, instrumentation and control equipment and will be required to use your own initiative and undertake self-study and research to become competent in a wide field of electrical and control engineering.
• Complete technical surveys and studies on electrical, control and instrumentation systems. This will include load profile assessments, quality of supply assessments, load flow studies, fault level studies and associated report documents.
• Support and take the lead on technical and engineering projects.
• Responsible for continuous development of products and services.
• Interface with workshop and project departments when required.
• Assist with the development of junior technicians and trainees.
• Enforce the policies and procedures of the company and maintain a high level of work ethic, quality and discipline with the work force.
• Support the company strategic plan, including the development and maintenance of the sales Budgets and Expenses ensuring an efficient and profitable business unit.

• Preferably T4 National Higher Diploma Electrical Engineering Heavy Current
• 3-4 years experience in a large Industry environment
• Exposure to heavy Industrial environment and heavy Industrial electrical machinery and a high level of technical competence and understanding of such equipment.
• Computer literate
• Drivers licence
• Willing to travel regionally and nationally
• Traceable references & clear criminal record
