Personal Lines Underwriter - CPTFull job descriptionRole PurposeProvide stakeholders with effective and efficient personal lines underwriting services according to the required standards and procedures in order to retain existing clients and secure new business in support of the business strategy.Financial:Ensure new business targets are metEnsure Binder fees targets are metEnsure retention of existing clientsEnsure and contribute to minimisation of general expensesClient:Ensure that all stakeholder (e.g. clients, AE’s, insurers) communication is accurate, timeous, professional and relevantBuild and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholdersEnsure and contribute to achieving own and company required client satisfaction targetsBusiness Processes:Adhere to company processes, service level agreements, quality assurance targets and broader regulatory frameworks wrt the following processes (but not limited to):General Enquiries such as but not limited to cover, products, processes etcNew Business, Renewals, Endorsements and Re-brokeConduct risk assessmentsAnalyse clients’ portfoliosRequest, obtain and assess quotes from insurersRate policiesRequest, obtain and/or provide clients with all required information and/or documentsArrange valuations and reinsuranceRaise premiumsFile all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copyUpsell cover to clients where appropriateCancellationsFollow retention processesCancel the policy on the systemConfirm cancellation request with the clientFile all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copyRefundsRaise invoicesRequest refunds from line manager electronicallyFile all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copyAdhere to company mandatesParticipate and contribute in ad hoc projectsReport any suspected fraud, misrepresentation and/or dishonestyKeep accurate record of own activitiesLearning and Growth:Live the RBS valuesEnsure continuous self-developmentEnsure objectives of own development plans are achievedShare information and knowledge with the teamEnsure productivity and quality assurance targets are met Minimum Qualifications & Skills:Matric or equivalentFAIS CompliantComputer LiterateExcellent communication skillsExcellent customer services skillsMinimum Experience:2 years’ experience working in a client services environment2 years’ experience as a Personal Lines Underwriter
