A prominent Pharmaceutical Company is seeking a detail-orientated Cost Accountant to join their team.The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial data, ensuring cost accuracy, and providing valuable insights to enhance cost efficiency within the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in cost accounting principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities:Cost Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze and interpret financial data to identify cost trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Calculate costings per test / product on offer.
Prepare detailed cost reports, variance analysis, and cost projections for management review.
Monitor and analyze cost fluctuations, providing insights to optimize cost-saving strategies.

Inventory Management:

Oversee inventory valuation processes, including cost allocation and inventory reconciliations.
Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure accurate inventory costing and minimize excess inventory.
Implement inventory control procedures to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, providing cost-related inputs and recommendations.
Monitor budget performance and analyze variances, identifying areas for cost containment and efficiency improvements.
Prepare cost projections and financial models to support strategic decision-making.

Cost Control and Process Improvement:

Implement and maintain cost accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Identify opportunities to streamline cost accounting processes and enhance efficiency through automation and optimization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.

Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

Provide analytical support for pricing decisions, product profitability analysis, and capital investment evaluations.
Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications:

BCom Accounting Degree
Extensive costing experience
Critical thinker
Solutions driven
Experience within the Pharmaceutical / Manufacturing Industry
