GLEDHOW SUGAR COMPANY - ENGINEERING MANAGER (SM) Gledhow Sugar Company (Pty) Ltd is looking for a self- motivated individual with strong leadership abilities and sound Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering background in the Sugar Industry to take up this challenging position at our Gledhow Mill. Reporting to the Factory Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for maintenance of Back-End and Refinery, Civils, Outside Services, and Packing departments. The position requires a high level of competence in the areas of management and heavy engineering. The successful incumbent must be able to work under pressure and deliver on the Key Performance areas of the job. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:•Responsible for maintenance of Back-End, Civils, Outside Services, Packing Station and Warehouse departments•Performs all tasks according to Gledhow Sugar`s Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures, Ohs Act•Responsible for all projects in the Back-End, Refinery, Packing Station and Outside Services•Modernization and automation of all equipment to improve reliability and efficiencies•Oversee all budget setting, authorization and allocation in the afore mentioned departments•Responsible for planning and execution of all capital projects in the afore mentioned departments•Advise on and select modern processing equipment to improve efficiencies and increase production *` De-bottlenecking and troubleshooting of above- mentioned sections•Ensures statutory compliance of all pressure vessels as per Ohs Act IDEAL REQUIREMENTS:•A BSc/Btech or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering•Government Certificate of Competency Factories will be an added advantage•Extensive safety and environmental experience in sugar milling•A minimum of five years experience as a sugar mill Engineer, preferably in all disciplines of the sugar mill, with extensive knowledge of the maintenance and operations of juice preparation, crystallization and curing•Refinery maintenance experience would be an advantage•Highly developed team leadership and management skills•Must be a Strong Team player•Employment equity will be taken into consideration for this position Applications accompanied by a detailed C.V. and proof of qualifications may be forwarded to: The Human Resources Department Please use Engineering Manager as a reference: E-mail: sngcobo@gledhow.co.za CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 20 March 2024 Appointment will be made in accordance with our Employment Equity Plan, and should you not receive any response or contact within four weeks after the closing date, please consider your application as having been unsuccessful.
