Mechanical Services Engineer (Foundry)

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or trade tested Mechanical Fitter (Minimum N6).
• A certificate or diploma in supervisory management and/or a proven track record in a similar position.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position.
• Above average computer skills.
• Foundry experience would be advantageous.
• Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience is essential.
• Must be able to read CAD drawings.
• Must be prepared to work standby and call-out duties.
• Tolerance for stress and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.

• To maintain the plant and ensure that uptime is at a required standard.
• Control Maintenance costs according to the budget.
• Purchasing of Spares and Equipment.
• Manage projects.
• Liaison with suppliers.
• Implementation of all Safety aspects within the Plant.
• Investigate and make recommendations with regard to improved performance of plant and machinery.
• Must be strong on decision making and problem solving; finding ways to improve efficiency of an operation.
• Manage artisans with regards to performance, discipline etc.
• Training and development of staff.
• Stand in for the Plant Engineer in his absence when required.
• Dealing with all Engineering aspects within the department, e.g. planned, preventative, breakdown maintenance and stock levels of spare parts.
