Job SummaryPurpose of the jobThe company requires a candidate to assist with the year-end audit process, fixed assets register, provide information to the auditors, preparation of AFS and commitment register.The required resource will report to the Finance Manager within the company Finance department.To this end, a temporary Financial Accountant is required to assist the Finance Manager (“FM”) with financial accounting issues for three (3) monthsScope of workThe Financial Accountant temp will be expected to provide the following:

Review and supervise the processing of ledger transactions to ensure there are no misallocations.
Prepare monthly management accounts and other finance reports.
Prepare annual financial statements using CaseWare.
Maintain commitments register and update with new contracts and payments during the year.
assist with any other ad hoc duties required by the finance manager.

Expected OutcomesThe Financial Accountant temp will be expected to provide the following:

Preparation of audit file.
Review of fixed assets register and update.
Preparation of AFS.
Assist with providing information to the auditors.
Update commitment register.
Update contract register

Qualifications and experience:

Bachelor's degree in financial accounting/management accounting or other finance/audit-related qualification (NQF Level 7) - please provide the valid qualifications copy
3 years of accounting experience as a Financial Accountant with knowledge of PFMA and GRAP, dealing with debtors, assets, payment, and general ledgers in the public sector.
