RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a driven and motivated Trainee Accountant to join our client's team in Gauteng. In this role, you will be provided with valuable hands-on experience and training while working towards becoming a qualified Accountant. As a Trainee Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with financial statement preparation, performing audits, and providing general accounting support. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts
Perform audits and assessments of internal controls
Contribute to general accounting tasks, including reconciliations and journal entries
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax returns
Participate in special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues

Requirements

BCom degree in Accounting or a related field
Strong academic track record, with a focus on accounting and finance courses
Highly analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance is advantageous
Working towards a qualification such as a CTA wanting to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) is a plus
