CORE PURPOSE OF JOBAssist with preparation and production of meals as per recipes provided with the highest level of care and a focus on sound hygiene and quality practices. To ensure that quality standards are maintained at all times and in line with the relevant food, health and safety requirements/legislationKEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Quality food preparation and output for functions and day to day catering needs.
Stock Administration.
Compliance to food safety and health and safety requirements
Work with Chef and/or cook in meeting food preparation requirements based on recipe and menu.
Provide support on quality food preparation and output relevant to catering events.
Effective maintenance of crockery, cutlery and food serving equipment
Customer Service

CORE COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of food, health and safety requirements
Knowledge and understanding of FIFO principles (stock rotation) and date coding
Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, compliance to HACCP standards and other relevant food, health and safety requirements
Knowledge of cleaning materials
Knowledge and understanding of menu, prices and specials

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Grade 8 12 or relevant qualification in hospitality services
12 18 months relevant experience in a catering and hospitality environment
