Sewing Machine Technician/Mechanic - Durban

• Matric / NQF 4/Diploma or equivalent level of education
• At least 3 years experience in repairing and maintaining sewing machines
• Thorough knowledge of high post machines, flat machines, twin and single needle machines as well as eyelet machines
• Responsible for conducting sewing machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and performing preventative maintenance
• Minimising amount of down-time due to faults and breakdowns
• Maximising productivity through scheduled preventative maintenance
• Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance service of production equipment
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
• Performs technical skills including, but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines
• Performs other related duties as required and or assigned by the Factory Manager
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively
• Superior problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with little or no supervision
