MANUFACTURING MANAGER - CAPE TOWNFull job descriptionEnsure buffer levels are kept to target.Optimize equipment utilization.Ensure service level of 97% is maintained.Implement an asset care management system.Ensure costs are controlled within budgeted levels – manage operational and capital budgetsMaintain targeted working capital management within the manufacturing operations in order to deliver optimal service levels.Justify replacement of strategic equipmentOverall control and co-ordination of the production planning processes in order to maintain adequate inventory levels for both stock replenishment and customer promotional requirements,Ensuring agreed service levels to the outbound supply chain.Setting, controlling and co-ordinating production standards to achieve optimum productivity levels and monitor.Maintain production and quality performances to realise scheduled throughputAnalyse manufacturing operations and systems and implement plant improvement strategies in order to achieve optimal productivity levels.Ensure the optimal performance of workshop staff to minimise machine downtime.Development and implementation of materials resource planning system to support various aspects of the supply chain including supplier management, capacity planning and order fulfilment.Ensure the continuation of TQM systems and procedures, optimising scrap and waste within the business.Ensure OHSACT & regulations are complied with, creating a safe, clean & healthy environment.Ensure effective safety and risk management systems are in place.Implement a NOSA 5 star management system.Ensure a well maintained access control environmentPlan, select, develop and maintain suitable manpower capabilities.Develop and maintain a high performance team.Implement job profile and performance agreements for all subordinatesPerformance managementKnowledgeIn-depth knowledge of Production principles and processesGood understanding of relevant legislationGood understanding of core business principles and processesGood knowledge of organisational policy and procedureSkillsAnalytical skillsNegotiation skillsProblem solving skillsLeadership skillsTeam leadership skillsCommunication skillsConflict management skillsCompetenciesProven track record of successfully implementing operational best practises in a manufacturing industry.Proven safety, quality and risk management experience.Knowledge of relevant legislation, such as labour legislation, OHSA, etc.).Strategic thinking abilities with a target-driven attitude.Self-starter, systematic and dynamic leadership skills.Well developed business and operational acumen.Well developed planning, analytical and organisation skills.Performance management skills.Project management skills.Fully computer literate (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint and Outlook).ERP systems knowledge.Between 5 - 7 Years
