Junior Tax Administrative Officer

• Minimum 2 years of tax administration experience, preferably in financial services.
• Solid knowledge of South African tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, Income tax).
• Familiarity with SARS policies and procedures.
• Understanding of tax administration functions.
• Familiarity with Great-soft or similar software preferred.
• Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or related field advantageous.

• Register clients for tax, including VAT and income tax, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Serve as the main contact with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for exceptional situations and resolve tax-related issues.
• Compile assessments daily using Great-soft and calculate fees accurately.
• Prepare and send tax payment notices to managers, keeping them informed of deadlines.
• Collaborate with managers to follow up on income tax payments.
• Set up income tax payments using appropriate systems.
• Proactively follow up on outstanding SARS refunds.
• Submit updated banking details to SARS promptly.
• Maintain a query register for SARS emails and correspondence.
• Prepare and submit client documentation to SARS, adhering to regulations.
• Manage the provisional tax process, including calculation and submission.
• Update clients’ e-filing profiles accurately.
• Attend to SARS queries and requests from taxpayers.
