This position requires someone who is familiar with test systems and hardware development in the military and avionics development environments, with expert knowledge on the design and integration of test systems.Your roleThe ideal candidate should be able to perform the following tasks:Provide inputs to project plan, SOW and estimated labour for a test bench development projectDerive lower-level test bench hardware requirementsPerform the high-level architectural design of a test benchPerform the detail design and create the manufacturing baselineLead schedule, procurement and assembly functionsCoordinate the mechanical design and assembly drawingsCoordinate and participate in integration, test and qualification activities of the test benchCreate and maintain documentation according to the test bench development processConfiguration and version control of the baselinesFault finding, repair and maintenance support on the test benchesPerform technical team leader functions as requiredYour profileSpecialist Knowledge Required:10+ Years’ on test system development and electronic circuit design5+ Years' on test equipment and unit under test integrationKnowledge of National Instruments and other general test equipmentMW and RF related test equipmentSignal integrity concepts on interfaces between test equipment and the unit under testElectronic hardware designSchematic capturing and PCB layout will be an advantageC# development skills will be advantageousAdditional Requirements:Experience in engineering and testing proceduresDeep understanding of electronic circuits and equipment functionFault finding and repair experienceRequirements analysis and writingTest systems architectural designTest systems hardware designDigital and general analog electronic designTechnical team leader experienceQualification:B.Eng Degree (Electronics) or similarWhat you will be a part ofSGD has reinforced its position as a leading South African defence and security company, bringing capabilities including electronic warfare systems, sensor technology, training systems, avionics, security and support solutions to international markets.
