Are you a dynamic Project Developer with a penchant for Renewable Energy? Hire Resolve's client is eagerly seeking someone like you to integrate into their team stationed in the lively hub of Gqeberha.As a Project Developer, your core duty revolves around the acquisition of essential land rights, permits, and licenses crucial for the lawful setup and functioning of Wind, Solar PV, and/or BESS projects.Responsibilities:Project Origination and Development:
  • Scout for potential renewable energy ventures.
  • Conduct preliminary risk evaluations and site inspections.
  • Negotiate agreements for land leases and secure suitable land parcels.
Commercial Negotiations and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Facilitate discussions for agreements like land leases and servitudes.
  • Obtain necessary permits, licenses, and approvals from governmental bodies.
Budget and Stakeholder Management:
  • Oversee internal and external consultant expenses within project budgets.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including dissenters and Interested and Affected Parties.
Risk Mitigation and Due Diligence:
  • Devise strategies to minimize risks and acquire essential permits and licenses.
  • Coordinate due diligence procedures for project acquisitions and financial closure.
Renewable Energy Procurement Support:
  • Aid the company's involvement in Renewable Energy IPP Procurement Programs and private off-taker bid submissions.
  • Provide assistance to the Project Director during financial closure and adherence to regulatory norms.
Relationship Building and Market Monitoring:
  • Cultivate rapport with consultants, regulatory bodies, landowners, and collaborators.
  • Keep a close eye on market trends, spotting opportunities, and potential challenges aligning with the company's objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in B Tech, BSC science/engineering, or B Com.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a renewable energy Project Developer in South Africa.
  • Proficient in project management, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with the rural South African context, administrations, environmental law, and BBB-EE code.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and flexibility to travel with a valid driver's license.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence indirectly.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrable creative thinking and problem-solving prowess.
