Operations Manager (Citrus/ Packhouse) - KirkwoodDescriptionOur client in the Agricultural industry is currently looking to employ a Operations Manager (Citrus/ Packhouse) based in Kirkwood.A wonderful career opportunity awaits you.Requirements:The candidate must have successfully accomplished a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.A relevant Tertiary qualification within operations or engineering disciplines will be an advantage.Computer literate – MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).10 years’ experience within a pack-house environment (preferable in the citrus industry) of which 5 years should be in a management role.Strong communication skills.Good working knowledge of BRC, HACCP, ISO, SIZA, and Global GAP accreditation.Experience of managing a production team is essential.Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:Assist in the development and implementation of strategic operational plans.Co-ordination and execution of the packing program as planned and prioritised by the Marketing department.Effectively manage staff and ensure compliance with company policies at all times.Monitor and ensure that the packing equipment, workstations and entire Packhouse is maintained at the required hygiene and operational standards.Monitor and ensure that the quality that is being packed is to each customer specification.Manage costs within the Packhouse according to budget and be proactive by considering more efficient ways of working.Lead and motivate Packhouse team to take ownership and pride in delivering the highest quality of product according to grade.Communication and assistance to growers (primary customer).Please note should you not receive a response within two weeks of applying you may assume that your application was unsuccessful.Report job Full job descriptionRockwell Automation is a global technology leader focused on helping the world’s manufacturers be more productive, sustainable, and agile. Minimum RequirementsBSC Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledgeLegal authorization to work in South Africa requiredMinimum 8-10 years’ experience in systems, software, process automation or application engineering capacity.Minimum of 2 years of leadership experienceAutomotive control and/or information experienceFurther education in engineering, software, or business administration.Extensive experience with direct customer contact.Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouragedExcellent conflict resolution skills.Available and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to meet business commitments.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must have excellent conflict resolution and people interface skills.Must be able and willing to travel. Some travel may be extensive.Technical writing capabilitiesPresentation skillsBased from Johannesburg, Hybrid working will involve regular time in the office and on customer site, around 30% travel or 50% office time
