Laundry Manager - DurbanFull job descriptionKey Responsibilities:- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the laundry department, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards onboard the cruise ship- Train and supervise a team of laundry staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they are performing their duties effectively- Monitor inventory levels and ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment are available for the smooth running of the laundry department- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all laundry items meet company standards- Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and productivity within the laundry department- Manage and maintain laundry equipment, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate department- Create and maintain schedules for laundry staff, ensuring adequate coverage at all times- Handle guest laundry requests and ensure timely delivery of all items- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience and timely delivery of laundry services- Keep accurate records of all laundry activities, including inventory, expenses, and guest requests- Train and educate staff on proper laundry techniques and proceduresRequirements:- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in housekeeping or hospitality management is preferred- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a cruise ship or hotel setting- Excellent organizational and time management skills- Strong leadership and communication skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Knowledge of laundry equipment and procedures- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plusJob Type: Full-timeSalary: R50 000,00 - R60 000,00 per month
