- Be fully aware of the policies and practices of the company as specified in the Systems Maintenance Manual and Departmental Procedures.
- Compliance with relevant standards / methods including all applicable legislation, customer and client requirements.
- Ensure adherence to the Management Systems which comply with SGS South Africa (Pty) Ltd Management systems and procedures in accordance with SANS ISO/IEC 17025 and OHSAS 18001 requirements including the customer / clients requirements.
- Execute work timeously, ethically and efficiently.
- Ensuring a continuance of the LIMS application on all workstations.
- Ensuring the application maintenance includes : installation, upgrades, version control, configuration of subroutines, user programs, user management, sample interfacing, etc.
- Enhancing the LIMS as a tool to satisfy the requirements of the business.
- Monitoring the correctness of the following tasks:
- Ensure validations of the LIMS in terms of ISO 17025 providing hands on training in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
- Ability to work effectively with internal customers and external service providers.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of software qualification requirements, practices and procedures, and informs other members of the staff of those requirements.
- Assist all employees with setting up / maintain computers.
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
Excellent computer skills and knowledge.
Basic computer systems and software applications.
I.T related Diploma/Degree is an added advantage.Additional Information Three (3) years exposure to information technology, specifically in the configuration of applications packages.
Understanding sample management, instrument interfaces, user management, reporting, interpreting and meeting customer requirements.
LABWARE LIMS software application including (interfacing instruments directly to LIMS, configuring LABWARE modules and developing in LIMS Basic).
Ability to understand and create reports using Microsoft Work, Microsoft Excel and Crystal Reports.
Maintaining SQL server databases.
