Engineering Underwriter
2500Our client in the Insurance Industry is looking to hire an Engineering Underwriter.Key Tasks & AccountabilitiesProfit and Growth
- Ensure that the Company is not over committed on individual risks
- Review monthly targets monthly
- Ensure that the Company reinsurance standards are always adhered to
- Report to the market facing underwriter on large variances and large claims
- Timeously assist with the resolution of problems
- Review figures of various portfolios
- Collaboration with company commercial business streams
- Assist with technical support and negotiations of small or uncomplicated accounts
- Analyse client information to determine marketing needs
- Provide input to Brokers regarding claims to ensure timeous resolution
- Ensure policies/renewals are issued timeously and correctly
- Ensure that payments are received on time in terms of legislation and company policies
- Resolve high level problems regarding credit control
- Assist the regions in reconciliations
- Lead by example in living the values of company
- Ensure that the technical knowledge/expertise is enhanced
- Communicate effectively, building and maintaining relationships
- Ensure consistent compliance to company policies and procedures, corporate governance, and relevant legislation
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 3 years technical expertise in underwriting, preferably in Engineering underwriting
- FAIS compliant, 60 credits
