Desktop Engineer - Cape TownFull job descriptionJob DescriptionJoin our dynamic IT team based in Cape Town, as a Desktop Engineer supporting the Coronation team with all matters related to our business’ IT infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for someone who is MCSE and A+ certified with preferably five years relevant experience gained within a Financial Services company or similar. If you are service orientated, enjoy a challenge, love problem solving and are willing to learn, then this role is for you.Duties and Responsibilities2nd and 3rd Line IT SupportThe building, configuration, and implementation of end user devicesCreation and deletion of users on the CFM domainTimely resolution of SLA based calls logged on behalf of the users via theHelpdeskFirst line support of internal development applicationsAdvanced troubleshooting of problem machines/softwareMaintenance of security softwareAudio visual equipment supportConfiguration of new technologiesAd hoc duties as they ariseWorking hours 08h00 - 17h00 (Flexibility does apply) with possible after-hoursworkIdeal Experience5 years relevant experienceFinancial industry experience would be an advantageActive Directory and Azure ADOffice 365 administration (license management from a product & administration perspective)EndPoint single sign-on management across Microsoft and 3rd party solutions.Familiar with Bit Locker encryption & recoveryVulnerability & Patch Management lifecycle (Generate report, identify vulnerable systems, UAT deploy, evaluate, Prod deploy)Familiar with Manage Engine endpoint central or similar solutions.Powershell would be advantageousGood understanding of Microsoft permissions and security.Strong troubleshooting skills, root cause analysis , documenting resolution to problems.Understanding of basic change control & best practice frameworks, ITIL will be advantageous.Remote support for users on and off network with the ability to think outside the box when critical system resources are not available.Crowdstrike Host Management (end points)Setup of new starters to the business and decommissioning upon leaving.Resolve inefficiencies and provide solutions from a IT support and end user technology experience perspective.End user application supportKnowledge of patching regimes and upgrading software packages would be an advantageIdeal QualificationsRelevant qualificationMCSE certifiedA+ certifiedMost Important AttributeManage Engine knowledge would be a plusWilling to learn and continue your education in the IT fieldCommunication skills, both written and spokenActive listening to properly understand and troubleshoot problemsSystems Knowledge
