Commercial Underwriter

• Responsible for incoming and outgoing sales calls including but not limited to emails and relevant communication internally and externally.
• Collecting all relevant information required in the underwriting process.
• To underwrite and apply necessary guidelines to ensure correct risk rating is applied to new and existing businesses and policies within authority limits.
• Deal with all clients and brokers professionally in strict accordance with business culture, products and quality standards.
• Manage time and workloads to ensure that deadlines are met. Demonstrate excellent knowledge of in-house policy wording, business products offered, underwriting rules, policies and procedures.
• Tasks will include the generation of policy documents, processing of endorsements, and dealing with brokers and other departments.

• Matric certificate (not negotiable)
• 150 FAIS and RE5-compliant
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Experience in an underwriting environment in commercial short-term insurance is beneficial.
