Proposals Engineer Estimator - PretoriaFull job descriptionMain Purpose:· Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.· Identifies labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents· Computes costs by analysing labour, material, and time requirementsKey Performance Areas:· Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues· Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, raw materials, equipment, and labour expenses· Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labour requirements, and other factors· Read blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates· Use sophisticated computer software to calculate estimates· Evaluate a product’s cost effectiveness or profitability· Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable· Prepare estimates for clients and other business managers· Develop projects plans for the duration of the project· Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labour expenses· Work with sales teams to prepare estimates and bids for clientsMinimum Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree would be preferred however, a highly experienced craftsperson may qualify without a bachelor’s degree. Voluntary certification can show competence and experience in the field.
