RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sourcing Suppliers: Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, conducting market research, and establishing relationships with vendors to ensure the availability of quality goods and services.
  • Material Requisition and Purchase Orders: Generating material requisitions based on project requirements, issuing purchase orders, and tracking order status to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials.
  • Vendor Selection and Negotiation: Assessing vendor proposals, negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing to obtain the best value for the organization while ensuring compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborating with suppliers to establish quality standards, conducting inspections, and monitoring product quality to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Cost Management: Analyzing costs, budgeting, and forecasting procurement expenses, optimizing purchasing processes to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards and delivery timelines.
  • Contract Management: Managing supplier contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions, resolving contract disputes, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks in the procurement process, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing measures to minimize risks related to supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or cost overruns.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide procurement support, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities, preparing reports on procurement performance, inventory levels, and cost savings, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
INTERNAL / EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
  • English is normal language
  • Mandarin or Afrikaans will be preferred
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering University
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Procurement Engineer field
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / FEATURES
  • Strong communication, coordination and follow-up skill.
