- As a Factory Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility in Vulcania.
- Your primary responsibility will be to support the maintenance team in various tasks, including equipment upkeep, preventive maintenance, and facility repairs.
- This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- You will collaborate closely with the maintenance team and other departments to uphold safety, minimize downtime, and contribute to overall production efficiency.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in routine inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshooting: Aid the maintenance team in identifying and diagnosing equipment malfunctions or breakdowns, helping to restore functionality promptly.
- Preventive Maintenance: Participate in planned maintenance activities, such as changing filters, belts, and other components, to prevent potential breakdowns and reduce downtime.
- Facility Repairs: Assist in repairing and maintaining the factory building, including basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and ensure that machinery and equipment meet safety standards, reporting any concerns to the maintenance supervisor.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of spare parts and tools, and help with ordering necessary supplies when required.
- Documentation: Document maintenance activities, including completed tasks, observations, and any repairs made, to maintain accurate records.
- Housekeeping: Help keep the factory and workspace clean and organized at all times.
- The requirements and qualifications for this position include:
- Matric.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar full time role.
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior maintenance personnel.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
