- Increase the capacity of the MOH or national health entity infectious disease and health programs to build an efficient, effective, and self-reliant system.
- Improve programming that will strengthen the overall quality of infectious disease and health services for the entire population.
- Improve coordination between infectious disease and health program stakeholders involved in the country including USAID.
- Financial Management: The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the program, including budget development, financial reporting, cash flow management, and financial analysis. This includes managing the program budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with USAID regulations and policies.
- Grants Management: The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the program grants. This includes reviewing grant proposals, developing grant budgets, and monitoring grant implementation and compliance.
- Financial Reporting: The Finance Manager will be responsible for preparing regular financial reports for USAID and the project team. This includes preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, as well as ad hoc financial reports as needed.
- Audit Management: The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing audits of the program, including financial audits and compliance audits. This includes coordinating with auditors, preparing audit documents, and responding to audit findings.
- Procurement Management: The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing program procurement processes, including developing procurement plans, managing the procurement process, and ensuring compliance with USAID regulations and policies.
- Capacity Building: The Finance Manager will be responsible for building the capacity of project staff in financial management and compliance. This includes developing training materials and conducting training sessions.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Master's degree is highly desirable.
- At least 5 years proven experience in financial management and accounting, in the context of USAID-funded projects.
- Strong knowledge of USAID rules and regulations, financial management, and accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail to produce excellent quality of work.
- Strong budget management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- High proficiency MS Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in the complex environment of project management.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
