Duties/Responsibilities:The key responsibilities of the Guest House Manager will include but not limited to the following:Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the guesthouse and ensuring that it operates seamlessly while maintaining the highest standards of excellence.Supervision of all staff including Guest Assistants/Supervisors, Housekeepers, Chef (temp) and Gardener/Handyman to ensure overall cleanliness and hygiene of the guest house.Managing front-of-house duties which include handling of reservation enquiries, bookings, cancellations, payments, invoices, guests’ check-in / check-out of guests, responding to telephone / cellphone calls and messages, emails, etc. as per Guest House procedure.Organizing and managing group bookings as and when needed.Procurement of stock and conducting regular stock-taking.Supervision of the general maintenance of the guest house including liaison with contractors such as plumbers, handymen, electricians, etc.Leading, managing, and motivating staff to deliver exceptional guest service and uphold the business’s reputation.Preparing of breakfast and/or dinner for guests with the assistance of other staff members and at times, the Chef.Communicating with the booking platform partners such as Booking.com, Nightsbridge and other stakeholders such as Travel Agencies and businesses.Providing essential information about the Guest House facilities, amenities, and services to guests, as well as activities available in the surrounding area.Assisting with recruitment, training and performance management of staff including work scheduling.Education/ Skills Required:A minimum Grade 12 or equivalent certificate.At least three (3) years’ experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager in a similar guesthouse or boutique hotel setting .Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written.Proficiency (spoken and written) in other languages is an added advantage.Computer literacy (e.g. writing and responding to emails, typing in word and excel) is critical.Knowledge of Nightsbridge booking system or similar and online booking channels like Booking.com is an essential requirement.A code 8 driver’s licence would be an added advantage.Correspondence will only be limited to shortlisted individuals.
