Tax Assistant Position:Individual tax submissions (ITR12):

Requesting documents from individuals
Understanding required documents and formats
Preparing rental and business income schedules
Basic understanding of capital gains tax calculations
Differentiating exempt income from taxable income
Preparing assets, liabilities schedules, and reconciliation
ITR12 preparation

Company tax submissions (ITR14):

Understanding financial statements and tax computation
ITR14 preparation
Inspecting assessments and highlighting differences
Basic knowledge of objection, appeal processes, and document preparation
Requesting remission of penalties
Following up on refunds with SARS
Uploading supporting documents for verification/audit
Updating efiling profiles, RAV01 forms, and facilitating SARS appointments

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years tax department experience
Proficient in Greatsoft software
Team player with knowledge of SARS policies and procedures
