- Managing and performing high quality technical advisory works.
- Project Management and interfacing between engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil and control and instrumentation).
- Prepare functional designs, specifications, and tender documents for thermal projects to internationally accepted standards for clients in Southern Africa and also internationally, under the supervision of a senior engineer.
- Prepare reports and drawings to stakeholder requirements, under the supervision of a senior engineer.
- Manage small to medium multi-disciplinary engineering projects, including basic project management tasks.
- Attend meetings with project stakeholders and prepare meeting minutes.
- Ensuring that standards and quality management system are adhered to
- Assist with audit processes
- Provide project engineering support during the execution phase of thermal generation projects including responding to technical queries, conducting factory inspections, and testing of materials and monitoring progress of construction on site.
- Preparation of proposals for consultancy services
- Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behavior consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision, and policies by influencing those around you.
- Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm.
- Embracing, displaying, and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
- BSc Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) Degree or BTech Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical).
- 2-3 years’ experience in Thermal Generation Power Projects.
- Knowledge and field expertise regarding power plant modelling, design, construction supervision and commissioning is advantageous.
- Technical advisory experience towards investors, project developers and banks are beneficial.
- Experience within a coal fired power plant will be advantageous.
- Experience covering a range of thermal power plant lifecycle delivery (including feasibility and development engineering, construction monitoring, witnessing testing and commissioning activities, and operational monitoring / inspections). (Preferred but not required).
- ECSA registration as a Candidate is required; however, preference is given to candidates that are already Professionally registered with ECSA.
- 2-3 years’ experience in thermal power plants.
- Ability to work within a team of engineers.
- Good communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Good technical report writing skills.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time, quality, and effort in order to deliver a quality product within time and cost constraints.
- Ability to coordinate and manage projects.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must be able to function independently.
