- Matric and BTech or Diploma in Retail Management or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years area store management, preferably in a food/butchery environment
- Thorough knowledge of retail store business practices including financial and meat business practices
- Strong computer skills, advanced Excel, Powerpoint
- Great people skills and the ability to handle extreme pressure
- Highly organised and detail orientated
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised
- Must be available to work shifts and retail hours
- Excellent references
- Own transport essential
- Leading and directing area sales to ensure sales objectives and targets are reached
- Ensure cutting standards and meat presentations are in line with company policies at each branch
- Monitor store managers to ensure honest and ethical behaviour
- Proactively and continuously monitor and review sales, marketing, profitability and growth opportunities
- Support buying process to ensure maximum cost savings
- Drive pricing strategies and strategic initiatives
- Ensure full compliance with all food , safety, quality and regulatory requirements in the region, oversee audits and compliance checks
- Visit all stores regularly to ensure company branding standards, staff and stores are in line with company policies
- Support all training and skills development of staff
- Ensure all disciplinary procedures are followed through
- Ensure all stores are adequately staffed ensuring maximum customer satisfaction
- Control and management of all sales, stock items and equipment budgets
- Scrutinise and manage costs at store level with managers to ensure maximum profit and minimal wastage
- Anticipate sales volumes and ensuring sufficient stock is on hand to meet demands
- Oversee HR and financial administrative functions at store level
- Personnel management development and training, absenteeism and sick leave, recruitment
- Able to present sales figures and strategies to Exco
- Highly ethical
