CAD Draughtsperson (Roads)

- Prepare, finalise and issue drawings for preliminary, detail and construction design for all Road design and related drawings.
- Keep a drawing register with all relevant drawings for record keeping and issuing of drawings to clients.
- Be able to maintain the drawing standards of the Transportation Team.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System.
- Successfully apply CAD standards and ensure adherence thereto.
- Must have knowledge of road sign designs as well as road marking applications.
- Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop drawings.
- Consult sketches, notes, schematics, guides and other documentation to create detailed CAD drawings.
- Follow established CAD standards in regard to layering, dimensioning, text annotations and other aspects of CAD usage.
- Review existing CAD drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Edit, rework and update CAD drawing files as required.
- Responsible for maintaining an organized file system for production drawings.
- Responsible for converting existing drawings to PDF or other formats required.
- Follow established ISO 9001 quality system with regard to filing, issue and delivery of production drawings.
- Must be willing and able to assist with the general operations of the company.
- Prepare and submit weekly timesheets.
- Adhere to all administrative, technical and quality procedures of the company.
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Certificate and/or Diploma in Drafting
- Minimum 5 years draughting experience on Roads related projects.
- Ability to operate latest CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Civil Designer and Trafsoft Road Sign Design Unlimited).
- Understanding various drawing file types and format changes.
- Working knowledge of Civil3D and Civil Designer will be an added advantage.
- High skill level of AutoCAD

- Ability to solve practical problems, ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications.
