Positions Available1DescriptionWordworks (WW) in South Africa has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Support Specialist. Wordworks is a South African non-profit organisation that focuses on early language and literacy development in the first eight years of children's lives. A key goal focuses on increasing awareness, uptake and support of early language and literacy programmes through knowledge sharing (internally and to the broader sector). WW has faced a growing demand by donors and government, to demonstrate the impact of the work and to constantly improve their offerings, and they have identified a need for additional support for the technical work of MEL.The PCRV will work alongside the other two MEL officers and the MEL manager to support the monitoring, evaluation and learning activities that Wordworks undertakes through collation and analysis of data. The PCRV will also develop, review and improve data collection tools and systems and ensure up-to-date templates are accessible and ensure that each programme has a timeline for MEL activities, based on annual programme plans.Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in South Africa together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.Request TypePCR000 PCR VolunteerPostSouth AfricaPartner Organization NameWordworks (WW)Required Skills● Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
● Excellent written communication skills in English, including the ability to tailor writing for different audiences
● Experience of providing administrative and operational support in a similar role and a real interest in the evidence generated in research and education based projects and products
● Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to assimilate information, forward plan and coordinate tasks and resources (including people) on a range of projects
● Strong IT skills, including knowledge of the GSuite and MS Office, strong spreadsheet skills, exposure to project management applications and different video conferencing platforms and an aptitude for using and learning technology tools, software and platforms
