Our client in the Renewables Energy industry is currently looking for a Strategy Financial Manager, in Bryanston, Johannesburg.Responsibilities:
  • Business Growth, Investments and Financial Analysis:
  • Advise on new growth, business, and investment opportunities across a diverse range of sectors, leveraging extensive market research as well as data and financial analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Lead financial analysis and due diligence for strategic initiatives, proposed investments, and strategic partnerships, assessing their financial viability, potential risks, and projected returns on investment.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts and capital allocation for strategic projects, including equity financing, debt financing, and strategic partnerships.
  • Define and analyse the financial viability of the organisation’s planned investments, evaluating factors such as ROI, NPV, IRR, and payback period to inform decision-making.
  • Structure deals and joint ventures (JVs) to maximize value creation and mitigate financial risks, negotiating terms and agreements with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide (financial) guidance and support to cross-functional teams involved in strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic as well as financial objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse key (financial) performance indicators, identifying trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Strategy:
  • Craft corporate and departmental strategies that accelerate growth, disrupt the solar energy market, and deliver long-term value.
  • Monitor and track the progress of the organisation overarching strategy, establishing, and implementing KPIs to ensure alignment with the organisation’s strategic direction.
  • Prepare and deliver regular (FP&A) reports and presentations to communicate progress, results, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management and external partners.
  • Assist with establishing and implementing financially robust end-to-end business processes, criteria and KPIs to drive innovative and agile operating models.
  • Project and Team Management:
  • Design project roadmaps and strategic plans, incorporating KPIs, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to drive growth, surpass revenue targets, and position the organisation as a market leader.
  • Lead and manage multiple cross-functional projects and strategic transformations concurrently, adeptly managing competing deadlines, evolving priorities, and resource availability.
  • Exceptionally manage cross-functional project team members and stakeholders, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance across all levels of the organization.
  • Effectively manage both internal team members within the Strategy and Emerging Business department as well as external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • A Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent qualification. CA(SA), CPA or CIMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, investments, or finance. This should include a minimum of 2+ years in a management or project leader role.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of driving either strategy and/or investments and delivering measurable results in a dynamic business environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data, perform financial modelling, and develop actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and a deep understanding of business development and growth strategies.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong client relationships, effectively managing key client and partner interactions to ensure the delivery of quality and value.
  • Exceptional critical thinking abilities focused on solution development, constructing logical arguments or analyses, synthesizing complex information, and proactively identifying or anticipating risks and challenges.
  • A relentless drive for results, coupled with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with numerous competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational prowess, including the capability to devise, implement, and monitor comprehensive project management plans with clear action plans to achieve objectives, optimize resource utilization, measure performance, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Outstanding communication skills, enabling effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders across all levels. This includes the ability to delegate tasks, motivate and inspire team members, instil accountability, provide clear direction, and secure support and buy-in.
Remuneration:
  • R85 000 – R100 000 per month.
