- Manage and supervise all construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines, building codes, and regulations.
- Monitor progress of projects and coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and engineers, to ensure effective communication and timely completion of tasks.
- Develop and implement construction schedules, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility, and provide technical expertise and advice when needed.
- Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of workmanship, adherence to specifications, and compliance with safety standards.
- Identify and resolve construction issues, including design changes, unforeseen obstacles, and scheduling conflicts, in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Hire, train, and manage site staff, including contractors and construction workers, to ensure a skilled and productive workforce.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source and select subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, and negotiate contracts ensuring the best possible value for the project.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, change orders, and material records, and provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders.
- Stay updated on construction industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance construction processes and deliver best-in-class results.
- Minimum of a National Diploma in electrical or mechatronic engineering; BTech preferred (or NQF equivalent)
- Proven knowledge of renewable plant management (or similar industrial plant) is required, including:
- Demonstrated knowledge of wind farm systems and operations
- Able to read and understand technical drawings
- Exposure to/knowledge of SCADA Systems, HV and MV power systems, transformers, solar PV system
- Experience in switching LV and MV systems
- Working knowledge of power system protection
- Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of LV and 33 kV cable systems including fault location and
- Ideally, two years' supervisory experience
- Proven excellent safety record OHS Act knowledge - Health and Safety.
- General ERP/CMMS experience is an advantage
- Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word and Excel is
- Valid Code B driver's license is a requirement
