- A minimum qualification of Matric / equivalent
- Licensing for a forklift and excavator - advantageous
- Possess the ability to work accurately and independently
- Have a good attendance, disciplinary and timekeeping record
- Be available for shift work, standby and overtime is essential
- Compliance to all health and safety policies and procedures
- Compliance of all team members to the disciplinary code of conduct
- Identification of training gaps to assist training department with scheduling of relevant training
- Participate in flexibility training, employee counselling sessions and health and safety risk assessments
- Control and report on absenteeism
- Ensure all required PPE is available for your team members
- Gather, review and action concerns relating to inspection checklists
- Continuously monitor and supervise your subordinates to ensure they are fulfilling their job functions
- Ensure all equipment used by the team is in good order
- Oversee and supervise that all oversized materials are cut to the correct sizes
- Ensure that all blast objects are segregated and removed
- Oversee and supervise the offloading of containers
- Oversee and supervise all material movement within SPD ensuring that all material is moved to the correct location to avoid double handling
- Coordination and collection of clean material for further processing
- Monitor cleaning of driveways, hooking of bins and the booking of all scrap loads
- Ensure communication and compliance of all team members to Watsapp instructions given on group
- Ensure that all shopfloor requirements to feed furnaces are met
- Ensure an efficient shift changeover is done at the end of shift to the next supervisor
