Job Reference Number: 3359Job PurposeThe core purpose of the role is to ensure the effective stock control of goods according to Lucy Electric requirements. The candidate will be responsible for the receiving of stock into the warehouse and controlling it in terms of quality, quantity, and availability. Stock Controller responsibilities include overseeing monthly stock take, inventory audits and maintaining reports of such.Key Accountabilities:Stock Management
- Coordinates stock control operations with warehouse staff, as well as the sales, projects and finance departments.
- Utilizes the company’s inventory software platform (Dynamics D365) to check in products and compare deliveries to outstanding purchase orders.
- Monitor stock levels across various LESA warehouses.
- Ensure stock received is correctly stored and not mixed with other goods.
- Control stock levels and ensure maximum stock value. Analyse regularly those items where the current stock holding exceeds 6 months’ turnover, establish and monitor appropriate action.
- Control, investigate and take action on obsolete stock items.
- Keep inventory up to date by leading monthly stock taking.
- Oversees stock storage processes, including tagging, boxing, and labelling.
- Always keep store area clean.
- Improve overall operational efficiency with inventory management.
- Optimize stock levels to prevent excess or shortage.
- Reduce carrying costs by eliminating redundant inventory.
- Manages purchasing orders for incoming goods, services, and supplies.
- Ensure that the supplier delivery note matches LESA purchase order number when receiving goods.
- Check if products are not damaged before signing for them.
- GRN the stock you have received into warehouse management system (Dynamics D365).
- For goods received in as stock, these items will need to be allocated a space in the warehouse for storage until ready to be picked for an order.
- Send a copy of the signed and dated delivery note and invoice to finance department.
- Inform project department about good received for specific projects.
- Note discrepancies picked up between the invoice and P.O number and follow SOP
- Review supplier board Confirm Truck is correct truck by acknowledging purchase order, supplier name and registration with truck delivery note (as per SOP).
- Visually inspect stock on truck as per SOP.
- National Senior Certificate / Matric / Grade 12 Certificate (Completed)
- A Certificate in Logistics, Warehouse Management or Stock Control
- 2 – 5 Years experience in a similar role
- Effective planning and organisational skills.
- Computer skills, Dynamics D365, Syspro (ERP) proficiency or similar stock management software.
- Able to multi-task.
- Working according to all required policies, procedures and instructions.
- Product Knowledge.
- Strong sense of responsibility.
- Forklift license will be an advantage.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and individually with efficiency.
