Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and sensory evaluations of products to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from specifications.
  • Utilize testing equipment and instruments to analyze product samples for attributes such as pH levels, moisture content, texture, and flavor.
  • Document and record quality control data accurately and maintain detailed records of inspection results.
  • Communicate quality issues or deviations to production staff and management in a timely manner and collaborate on corrective actions.
  • Monitor and verify adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other food safety protocols.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to assess compliance with quality control procedures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality or safety issues, coordinating with relevant departments as needed.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Train production staff on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance roles within the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, food safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).
  • Familiarity with quality control techniques, methodologies, and statistical tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and analyze quality issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using quality testing equipment and instruments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to upholding high standards of product quality, safety, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in quality management systems (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Technician).
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques and sensory science principles.
  • Previous experience in conducting supplier audits and evaluations.
